My avocation, for the last 15 years, as the in-house Graphic Artist/Sign Manager, for a well respected regional resort, has presented me with an unusual opportunity to work with the encompassing elements of a complete visual communication program.

I consider myself more than a “graphic designer” although some of what I do draws on those skills. My work has been focused on creating actual elements of the physical infrastructure of the resort. I work as a designer, fabricator and installer to insure that the pieces are designed, built and installed appropriately, effectively and for the maximum impact.

I define “ a Visual communication Program” as including all physical amenities that enhance the visual character of the resort or facility. Those elements may include:
Pieces for the purposes of:

  • Sense of Arrival
  • Informational
  • Wayfinding
  • Regulatory
  • Ambience

If you have needs for creating or adding to an existing program of branded signage, my service can be of help to you.

At The Summit at Snoqualmie, I spearheaded the branding effort by designing a new typeface (for Alpental) and delivering a new look and feel for all signage throughout the resort. This contributed to an enhanced image and a more enjoyable experience for the guests.

Please look through a sampling of my work from my recent avocation.

Thanks   Eric Hardee, Professor of SIGNtology
